Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's first title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
